In clinical practice is difficult to follow the growth of an aneurysm in an aorta. Using ANSYS CFD and RBF Morph, researchers created a virtual statistical patient to analyze the blood flow and blood pressure alterations during the transition of the aorta from a healthy to an aneurysmatic state. Using patient-specific data in the future could lead to better diagnoses of aneurysms and improved clinical outcomes.
