Ilaria earned her master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2023 while working at the BioCardioLab within the Bioengineering Unit of the Monasterio Foundation. Both during her studies and in her subsequent role as a research fellow at the BioCardioLab, she specialized in medical image analysis using AI techniques, first applied to the processing of brain images for lesion detection and later integrated with advanced numerical simulations to study the hemodynamics of the left atrium. Since 2024, Ilaria has been a doctoral student at the University of Pisa at the BioCardioLab, where she conducts research on thrombus formation models as part of a project funded by the Ministry of Health.
