Simona Celi is a senior scientist at Fondazione Toscana G. Monasterio. She co-found the BioCardioLab in 2008. She is a Mechanical Engineer and she received her PhD in 2008 at University of Pisa. She participated in several National and International research projects and currently she is the technical PI and sub-unit PI of three national research grants. She is adjunct professor at Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa and lecturer at Scuola Superiore San’Anna for several Master Courses. Main research topics are the correlation between in-vivo, ex-vivo data; development of in-silico approach through advanced image processing, experimental activities and finite element simulation with uncertainties quantification and sensitivities analysis. Supervisor of 7 PhD students and of about 25 Master Thesis. From 2017 to 2023 she was member of the executive board the Italian Chapter of the European Society of Biomechanics (www.esb-ita.it).
